Studies of Terrorist Organization and Ideologies
A 15-20 minute conversation concerning the topic in light of the Minerva requests for proposals and in relation to national security strategy and policy.
Frank Hoffman , John Horgan , Mark Morehouse
A couple of days ago I saw an article in a paper that I thought applied today. Back in the 1980s an American historian attended a dinner party and found himself seated next to a Soviet geophysicist, who had done work in earthquake prediction. By the end of the evening, these two scholary gentlemen had figured out that the science of forecasting earthquakes offered an important insight into presidential elections. The two of them collaborated and came up with a system that has correctly predicted the popular vote of every presidential election since 1860 ... I'd like to highlight that there is great untapped potential, I think, when you bring together previously unused or underutilized sources of ideas and information to help the Department of Defense address and solve its challenges. - - Mark Morehouse
